Domestic violence awareness and prevention was adopted as Alpha Chi Omega's national philanthropy in 1992. Since then, Alpha Omega Alpha has found ways to support these causes close to home, in our own communities.

Alpha Omega Alpha also raises funds for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation to support our sorority, fellow sisters and local chapters. We support collegiate chapters in Michigan by donating items of need, participating in ritual events, serving on collegiate advisory boards and attending chapter activities.
Some of our domestic violence awareness and prevention efforts include:
- Raising funds to support two local domestic violence shelters, Turning Point and HAVEN, through our annual Hobby Auction
- Collecting items for Turning Point, a local nonprofit that provides a shelter, crisis line, children’s program, counseling and other programs for victims of domestic violence
